Experienced Medical Instrument Engineer Job in Framingham 01701, Massachusetts US
Solace Therapeutics is dynamic startup medical device company focused on the development of non-surgical office treatments for womens health applications.
The company has developed proprietary technology that addresses a very large unmet medical need.
The technology is novel, and we are looking to add top-flight engineers to improve our product which is currently in a US pivotal clinical trial.
We are looking for an engineer that is hands on, creative, and is comfortable starting with a clean sheet of paper.
Since our technology is novel, direct experience is not possible.
The specific title and salary will be commensurate with experience and capability.
The mission
1. Invent, refine and rapidly launch into manufacturing new disposable medical instruments which are used to place and remove devices in the body2 As project leader, creatively leverage both internal and external resources to move projects along rapidly3.
Be self-directed and highly motivated with excellent project leadership, communication and teamwork skillsTo be considered the candidate must have: · A bias for action and speed· A passion for creative and elegantly simple product design· Medical device industry experience developing disposable and reusable tools used in conjunction with rigid and/or flexible optical scopes · Experience in a venture capital funded startup company is desirable · Excellent verbal and written communication skills· Interest and current expertise in 3D CAD, rapid prototyping, testing, getting clinical feedback, rapidly iterating designs and launching them into production· Experience in the development of medical devices that includes working within design controls· Comfort in a environment where the emphasis is on developing technologies that lead to products · A four-year degree in mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering; advanced degrees would be a plusKEYWORDS: Mechanical Engineer, Biomedical Engineer, Medical Device, Surgical Instruments, R&D, Research and Development, R&D, New Product Development, Mechanical Engineering, Boston area, Startup Company
