Experienced Grinders needed ASAP on all shifts! Job in Geneva 60134, Illinois US
Objective: Perform duties to set-up and operate twin-grip or grinding equipment.
Duties: Work from instructions, prints and process specifications.
1. Perform duties to successfully operate centerless grinders.
2. Set-up and operate twin-grip, lap grinder and miscellaneous grinding equipment.
3. Gain working knowledge of non-primary machine.
4. Use SPC charts and interpret results.
5. Properly gauge and monitor production to specific tolerances and quality.
6. Use twin grip or lap grinder, on line and electronic gauging, material handling equipment and hand tools.
7. Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
8. Help train and assist operators as required.
9. Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required.10. Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must successfully complete the pre-hire math test.
Experience: Previous experience and training on manufacturing machine operating is preferred but not required.
Skills & Knowledge: Blueprint readingPhysical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for those with specific physical restrictions.
Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fluids and slippery floors.
Full-time position.
May require overtime and weekend hours.
Other Details: All candidates must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Must also be able to work 60-70 hours per week in some cases.
We have 12 openings available on all shifts.
Pay rate is $18.00/hr.
