Executive Director for Alumni Relations (CAA Governance and Planning/School-Based Relations) Job in New York 10027, New York US
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Alumni Relations, the Executive Director for Alumni Relations will support all Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) and school-based alumni relations initiatives established as part of Columbias University-wide alumni relations program.
S/he serves as a key member of the Alumni Management Team for the Office of Alumni and Development.
As a member of this team, s/he will provide strategic and collaborative insight for all University-wide alumni relations events and programs.
The Executive Director acts as a senior strategic partner in the staff leadership of the CAA. S/he is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the CAA, including staffing the Chair of the CAA board and committees.
S/he is involved in strategic planning to promote the CAA and development and implementation of the CAA Annual Worldwide Leaders Assembly, and creates opportunities for alumni involvement.
Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree required.
Minimum seven to nine years related experience.
Must have extensive knowledge of managing alumni events and volunteer development.
Must have unique ability to recognize needs and interests of students and alumni, and experience to develop programs, products, and services to meet those needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities, exercise excellent judgment, and work with diplomacy and discretion in a highly pressured environment required.
