Executive Administrative Assistant /Legal Assistant/Paralegal assistant Job in Kalamazoo, Michigan US
Position Details: Position: Legal Assistant Location: Kalamazoo, MI Duration: 24+ months contract Note: VMRD, PAH are not skill sets, they are divisions/Departments Candidate should be extremely sharp and must be able to multi-task.
Paralegal experience would be a nice to have.
Description: The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for supporting the PAH Legal Department and VMRD with an emphasis on coordination of the contracting process, including processing, receipt, execution, filing, retention and overall document management, and ensuring records are maintained and updated on a continuous basis.
In addition, this candidate will participate in the pilot of the Agreement Management System and its possible roll-out to VMRD.
This candidate will provide the interface between US VMRD and PAH Legal, and between US VMRD and external parties with whom agreements are being executed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Agreement Management System
Participate in the pilot of the Agreement Management System (AMS).
Act as both the Librarian and the Contract Originator for the AMS
Participate in possible roll-out of AMS to VMRD, including migration of current legal documents
Act as a point of contact regarding legal agreements in AMS for VMRD colleagues Contracting Support Functions: Perform a variety of functions in support of VMRD and the PAH Legal Department according to established policies and procedures:
Execute the VMRD legal agreement workflow process Staff Assistance
Provide assistance to VMRD staff and external parties by answering questions on agreement drafts Minimum Skills, Education, Skills and Requirements: EDUCATION
Minimum of Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
Legal administrative experience desirable
Bachelor of Arts/Science degree preferred SKILLS
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to mulit-task
Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule
Fluency with the Microsoft Office software suite
Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
Corporate and departmental operating policies and procedures EXPERIENCE Minimum of one years experience performing contract or administrative support duties preferably in a law firm or legal department ATTRIBUTESAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across the organization and with external parties
