Environmental Safety Technician Job in Dallas 75265, Texas US
ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY TECH Location: Greater Dallas Area, Texas Group: WWF Degree Requirements: High school/Equivalent We're searching for a dynamic individual to coordinate decontamination and emergency response activities for TI, with a focus on prevention.
In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Coordinate building activities tool wreck-out, safety inspections, Hazmat team training, physicals and equipment and team maintenance.
- Support the 5S program, building evacuation drills along with other activities as necessary.
- Work shifts as business demand dictates.
- Maintain a staff of volunteer response team members for each shift.
- Perform Unit 700 (1st responder) services as necessary.
- Assist with ESH functions, operations support and other related WWSES services.
- Coordinate contract decontamination resources, quote and schedule jobs, completion of tasks on time and under budget.
- Organize work and activities, manage schedule to meet customer expectations.
- Catalog and organize information for effective use of time and materials.
- Manage contract labor - develop supplemental and turnkey strategies.
The ideal candidate will have 0-1 years of experience with an Associates degree in an emergency management, fire or environmental science program or 5-7 years of direct decon and emergency response experience in lieu of an Associates degree.
This person must be certified as a Hazmat Technician with proficient knowledge of and training in the use of NFPA standards, OSHA regulations, and guidelines used in the field of emergency response, to include at a minimum the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for competencies of emergency response personnel and OSHA Hazwoper 1910.120. Certification with basic FEMA Incident command courses (IS100, IS200, IS700 & IS800) are needed.
The ability to instruct classes and have Instructor certification for adult learning (OSHA train the trainer or Fire Service Instructor) is required.
The person in this position must understand, develop and deploy confined space permitting, hazard identification and rescue services.
The ability to be a strong team leader for the Hazmat team and work within the Incident Command process is essential.
This person must be able to work effectively with others at all levels in the organization, and manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.
Strong communication, training, troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills are required.
