VHBs Williamsburg, VA office is seeking an Environmental Planner.
This position will assist on projects requiring compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), in particular for the National Park Service (NPS), other US Department of the Interior (DOI) agencies, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Specific duties will likely include: participating in the environmental evaluation, documentation, and permitting of large public projects as part of an interdisciplinary team of planners, scientists, and engineers; consultation and coordination with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies; alternatives development; document preparation and review; client liaison; and project management.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of BS/BA and 3-5 years of NEPA compliance experience; an excellent knowledge of the NEPA and Section 106 NHPA regulations; excellent writing and communication skills and research capabilities; and be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks.
Experience with National Park Service guidelines and regulations is a plus.
