A major client, located in New York City, is seeking a Enterprise Infrastructure - Technology Disaster Recovery, Associate Level.

A Disaster Recovery Specialist is required to manage the delivery of high quality services within one of the three primary regions.

The Technology Disaster Recovery Specialist will play a lead role in the enhancement and execution of testing and recovery planning strategies for the group, ensuring that the deployment of future infrastructure adheres to the best practice principles of Business Continuity /Disaster Recovery.

As a member of the Global Technology Disaster Recovery (DR) team they will be responsible for the advancement of the firms BCP/DR strategy in line with the requirement to move away from a reactive model to a proactive, production resilient model.

The Technology DR Specialist reports to the local TechDR testing manager with additional global reporting lines based on infrastructure or project coverage alignment.

Additional responsibilities include: Perform a leading role in the point of recovery coordination during Brooklyn and Pavonia Mainframe Data center locations /DR/BCP testing/events, working in conjunction with Mainframe, Networking, and infrastructure leaders and the crisis management team.

These events involve extensive planning and communications.

Tests are generally conducted during weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday).

Kick-off and ongoing organization of communications to a large audience of Technologists for planning and organizing DR events.

Preparation for testing events through review and QA of test plan and run-book documents with infrastructure teams.

Review the Region's IT technical and people recovery plans to ensure they are sound, while ensuring that the documentation meets regulatory and internal/external audit requirements.

Coordinate with DR leaders for each of the technical areas such as Storage Operations, UNIX Ops, DBA, Network Operations, etc.The candidate is required to be the global project lead for supporting the client's Data Center Initiative.

This project aims to execute the successful Interchangeable Data Centers Recovery Plan for both the Brooklyn and Pavonia Data Centers and the demonstration of their resiliency.

The candidate will work closely with the various Mainframe Engineering teams and Network Business continuity Team, IT Risk Managers, and the rest of the global TechDR team to progress and complete the Front to Back Analysis project for IT. Skills Desired: The preferred candidate will have a strong technical background including prior experience in a technical area, working closely with infrastructure departments.

Must be balanced with solid people and communications skills.

Proven Background in Disaster Recovery, with extensive experience gained in a large organization with complex IT, operating across a regional or global geography.

Experience working in Virtual teams and strong communication skills are required.

Proven background in running long term technology projects with a global virtual team is required.

Exposure to Mainframe recovery, Wintel and Unix/Linux Infrastructure IT environment and to Telco principles.

Large scale event planning and industry testing experience required preferred.

Understanding of industry best practices for IT DR planning and BCP recovery experience is desired but not essential.

Financial Industry experience strongly recommended.

Other Requirements: The candidate will be able to convey complex technical strategies and plans to a wide audience from technician to senior business and IT management.

Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written) are required.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.). Strong relationship skills and the ability to be a team player with good tact and diplomacy.

The ideal candidate would also be self-motivated, very process oriented and able to multitask.
