Emergency Room Technician Job in New York , New York US
Job Description: Responsible for patient care and support activities promoting patient focused care within the Emergency Department.
Responsible to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Job Qualifications
1. Assists Nursing staff and other professionals in day-to-day functions including oxygen, performance and transmission of EKG's, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, lab specimens, and activities of daily living2 Reports any patient behavioral changes or those in movement and functionality, or diet.
Performs one-on-one observational status of special precaution patients3 Provides for safe and comfortable movement of patient, such as: from bed to chair, from bed to stretcher and assists patients when walking alone or with a walker4 Maintains Emergency Department in a safe, clean environment by completing sanitary and housekeeping tasks, such as maintaining a tidy area and picking up trash5 According to policy and established procedures, assures that patient clothing and valuables are handled properly6 Answers Call System and refers to appropriate staff7 Greets visitors and answers telephone promptly and courteously, escorts visitors to appropriate area when necessary, also provides information and makes referrals when appropriate8 Transports patient on stretchers or wheelchairs as required9 When necessary, assists in interpreting.10. Other duties as required.
