Position Overview Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with Automotive product development background responsible for building and maintaining the relationship with the Electronics Manufacturing Supplier (EMS, or contract manufacturer) for A123Systems electronics for use in battery pack systems.
May exercise technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel.
Consults with supervisor as required.
Primary responsibilities Single point of contact between A123Systems and the electronics contract manufacturer.
Managing electronics supply chain development from engineering aspect.
Leading electronics supply chain through APQP and PPAP process.
Performing value chain analysis for electronics supply chain.
Contract manufacturing plant site audits and analysis for quality.
Drive electronics supply chain for hitting cost and quality targets.
Leading the cost reduction strategies for the electronics and supply chain.
Support engineering team and electronics supply for execution of design and product validation.
Work with engineers and technicians to design electronics for manufacturing.
Specific Skills/Abilities Applicant should have a strong knowledge in automotive design for electronics, production part release, working experience with quality disciplines (APQP), electronics manufacturing and quality support systems, supply chain management and manufacturing outsourcing.
Education/Experience BS ME/MSME, BS EE/MSEE or equivalent training Masters degree or additional experience preferred Minimum 8 years experience in automotive industry Experience in electronics manufacturing and electronic supplier development required Experience in field of Hybrid-Electric or Electric vehicle automotive battery design preferred .
