JOB SUMMARY: As an essential member of the Ecommerce marketing team, this position is the primary driver of new and emerging online media for Staples Business Delivery (SBD).
The E-Marketing Manager will field and evaluate new online media opportunities, including researching new opportunities, fielding recommendations from clients who have leveraged new technology, developing proof of concept or pilot plans, and determining roll out solutions/opportunities for the business.
The E-Marketing Manager must be able to think strategically, but be willing and able to roll up his/her sleeves to help implement the programs.
In a fast and dynamic environment, this position also takes on special projects aimed at driving incremental sales.
Ideal candidate should actively participate in a wide variety of social media activities, embrace the broader social media world, and have knowledge of in-depth online marketing trends.
Research, evaluate, and test new media channels for SBD (i.
e Display, Social, Mobile, Lead Generation, Community, etc.). Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activitiesMonitor the social community and actively participate in any online conversationSupport cross channel integration and initiatives with new media ideas and opportunities with other Staples business units (Retail, Corporate, etc.)Measure the impact of new media channels on overall marketing effortsManage internal and external partners to deploy highly effective programs and achieve business goalsCommunicate media activities and metrics to all levels in the organizationDetermine how emerging media opportunities fit with overall online media mixMonitor trends within the online/digital spaceResearch, analyze and monitor market trends, benchmarks, and the competitive environment Prioritize initiatives for agency to focus resourcesActively engage in social media and blogging community to keep current with trends and key players in the spaceAct as gatekeeper for the E-commerce team, tasked with reviewing and evaluating all agency/new media opportunitiesManage vendor solicitations and pitchesNegotiate favorable terms with vendors for proof of concepts that minimize risks to SBD Develop and manage process to prioritize new initiatives for the team to focus resourcesBuild and prove business cases to garner support (financial and resource) for new online opportunitiesManage and develop other marketing programs as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing required 5-8 years related experience E-Marketing experience required, preferably in the business to business industry with a multi-channel retailer; common understanding of all facets of online marketing including traditional paid search, natural search, display, mobile, social, as well as standard industry practices.
Proactive and self-motivated work style with proven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
Strong and effective communication (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills.
Highly proficient in Excel/Word/Powerpoint with the ability to analyze data and prepare reports presentation.
Previous experience using web metric programs (Omniture, Dart Search, Core Metrics etc.)Ability to comfortably work with large groups of people at all levels of management.
Technologically savy individual that is an early adopter of new mobile and online technology.
Must be actively involved in the social media space (professionally and/or personally).
Must be comfortable working and adapting to an ever changing environment.
