Director of Tennis Job in Portsmouth 02871, Rhode Island US
The Carnegie Abbey Club, an exclusive private members golf, tennis, equestrian, and sailing club, comprised of 400 acres of countryside located on the shores of Narragansett Bay near Newport, Rhode Island, is seeking an experienced Director of Tennis.
This is a wonderful opportunity to manage a growing tennis program in a great environment.
Primary responsibilities: Manage tennis facilities and all related programs, supervise all court action, manage tournaments, providing lessons and managing camp programs.
Creating interesting tennis related clinics and programs to grow the tennis program amongst adults and children.
Create the annual camp schedule, including introducing interesting activities and agreements with necessary contracts to support the activities, when applicable.
Also manages and hires/supervises the camp staff and activities done during camp.
Seasonal employment part time in May, September, October, and full time June, July and August.
The ideal candidate will: Welcome Members and Guests by greeting them and referring them to the appropriate court/program, helping with sales, events, corporate outings and tournaments.
Maintain club atmosphere by keeping track of all members and guests who use the tennis facilities.
Provide group and private lessons.
Manage tournaments.
Supervise Kids Camp.
Skills/Qualifications: Must have a passion for tennis and a USTA play level o
4. 0 or higher.
Excellent coaching and people skills.
High level of professionalism, self confidence and customer focus.
Ability to multi-task, excellent communication skills, and Microsoft office skills.
