DIRECTOR OF EHSOur client is a leading company in their industry who is actively searching for a Director of EHS to be responsible for developing, implementing and administering a safety and health management system that includes company policies and standards that provide locations with a framework to meet all governmental safety regulations and standards, to ensure the safety and welfare of all employees, and to reduce the number and severity of incidents and injuries resulting in the continuous improvement of the company's safety performance recordOther responsibilities include: .

Provide expertise and guidance to locations on current and future federal and state OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.

Advising locations on strategies to improve performance and instilling a genuine culture of safety awareness and responsibility across the company.

Providing relevant content and subject matter expertise to support required training and development of thorough and complete accident investigations.

Conducting routine as well as targeted safety inspections and audits at locations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies and standards, and to focus the resources, efforts, and training to improve the location's safety record.

Providing guidance, advising, and supporting any location requiring assistance in abating complaints and or citations issued as a result of an OSHA inspection.

Be available for timely travel to the facility and or the OSHA Regional Office to assist the local management.

Maintain and audit the elements of the Combustible Dust Management Program including overseeing and coordination the management of change process.

Modify and update the Program as needed to keep current with changing combustible dust regulations and standards.

Ensure that the requirements for employee participation in hazard assessment and other elements of hazard management are satisfactory.

Organizing, chairing, and reporting on regular workers compensation meeting convened with each location to review the status of active cases and to identify and closely manage those cases with the potential of being costly.

Work with the Human Resources Department and the TPA as needed in this regard.

Preparing weekly as well as monthly statistical reports that describe the safety results for the period by location and in total including the performances versus key safety metrics.

Include the period and year-to-date workers compensation costs and those cases that required a significant increase in reserve or have been settled.

Organizing, chairing, and reporting on monthly conference calls convened with Safety Managers convened to review the status of safety results, initiatives and other topics of relevance and importanceQualifications include: .

Workers Compensation Claims Management Experience.

Return-To-Work Program Management Experience.

Behavioral Safety Auditing Experience.

Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Experience.

Candidates preferably will have a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field.

The candidate must have five to ten years of occupational safety and health experience in industrial or similar operations.
