Job Description: Director, Compliance Auditing and Monitoring – Natick, MAPosition SummaryThe Director, Compliance Auditing and Monitoring will provide strong leadership and vision to the Compliance Audit function.He or she will promote high quality, effective and compliant policies, processes, reports and controls and will lead audit teams to provide independent and objective assurance services that improve Boston Scientific compliance and operations.

This position will be responsible for communicating the internal compliance audit plans and results of reviews with business unit management, and region and division leaders.In addition, the Director and his or her team will serve as internal consultants, providing analysis of compliance issues.The individual hired will be a broadly skilled compliance executive who can lead and develop the Compliance Audit function.

Team leadership skills are essential and the Director, Compliance Auditing and Monitoring will provide professional development, mentorship and support to the geographically dispersed team.He or she will be expected to travel to the company’s facilities.

Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in setting the direction and objectives for the organization, and proactively identify opportunities for Compliance Auditing and Monitoring to add value to the Company.

Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and maintain the highest ethical standards throughout the organization.

Develop the Compliance Auditing and Monitoring Strategic Audit Plan, with the Chief Compliance Officer and in coordination with the Vice President, Corporate Analysis and Control, and update the Compliance Auditing and Monitoring Strategic Audit Plan throughout the year based on regular communication with management and the results of audits performed.

Assist the Chief Compliance Officer with preparation of regular senior leadership and board updates based on audit results and identification of risk themes.

Develop, implement and coordinate the annual compliance risk management approach to determine whether the organization’s network of compliance risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning in a manner to ensure: Compliance risks are appropriately identified and managed; Effective policies and procedures are in place to address compliance risk, with appropriate training of and communication to relevant employees Effective and efficient controls are in place and functioning; Reliable compliance systems and processes are in place; and Processes are in place to effectively monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

Ensure audit teams conduct thorough and independent audits focused on evaluation of compliance policies, processes, controls and records, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Enable effective and efficient compliance audit processes.

Ensure that compliance audit issues are well defined, root causes are identified, and recommendations for improved policies, processes and controls are communicated appropriately and subsequent management actions are reported and tracked.
