You'll choose and train your staff in ordering, preparing and serving food to our residents.
As you know, food service isn't just about delicious specialties that our residents look forward to. It's also making sure that they get the right-sized portions and the kind of healthful, nutritious food they need to feel as well as possible.
Responsibilities: Hire, evaluate and discipline employees; prepare work schedules and maintain adequate staffing; order food and supplies, check shipments and conduct inventories.
Instruct employees in the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, proper food preparation and handling techniques and work area cleanupDevelop procedures to ensure residents are served the correct food, in proper proportions, at the right temperature and in sanitary conditions; monitor food preparation for compliance with menus and recipes; check for special diet or nutritional requirements for new residentsParticipate in resident care conferencesInstruct employees in proper cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, pots, pans and utensilsDevelop budgets; ensure budget levels are not exceededParticipate in the "Performance Improvement Program"Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws The Manager must have knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques, be skilled in bulk food preparation and have knowledge of nutritional standards and applications.
Must be skilled in directing and motivating the staff.
A High School diploma (or equivalent) and two years of experience in large quantity food preparation are required.
A BS in business (or similar) and one year of background in a supervisory role with experience in therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
