Desktop Support Technician (DSTEBED209) Job in Bedford
DescriptionProvide services and support for desktop and laptop hardware, O/S software, Office and email applications, network protocols and printing services.
Participate in 2-4 projects annually.
Primary ResponsibilitiesTier 2 Phone support to remote users and remote sitesMonitor call queues for break/fix and request calls Monitor closed calls to be sure that satisfactory resolutions are being providedInventory, ordering, asset controlMonitor parts and PC inventory Ensure that all assets are labeled and entered into asset databaseTrack IT requests and notify Manager to order needed inventoryPoint of contact for escalated callsProvide customer service resolutions or status for inquires or service escalationsHelp Coordinate monthly movesPoint of contact and desktop coordinator for the assigned to siteProcedure documentationCreate and maintain documentation for Desktop procedures in coordination with other regional desktop groupsAssist on call resolutions, for other sites, as time allowsWhen time permits, work on overflow of break/fix or request calls from any of the other desktop call queuesOther duties as assigned by the Help Desk ManagerRequired SkillsExtremely good phone support skillsBasic troubleshooting skills for desktops and laptops, O/S software, office suites and email.
Basic knowledge of network protocols.
Basic customer service skills.
Certain physical requirements need as wellWindows 2000/XPBasic Windows 2000/2003 AD Server Knowledge and UnderstandingMs Office Suite XP Understanding and ability to use standard IT call tracking systemsBasic/Advance Knowledge of: o VPN softwareo Oracleo Siebelo Internet ProtocalsRequired Experience0-2 years experience in a customer service PC support environment.
Certificates or associates degree in MIS helpful.BS or equivalent in MIS or related technical field.
Certificates in A+ or MCSE helpful.
