Desktop Support Specialist (Zenworks Support) Job in Los Angeles, California US
Unified Technical, Inc. has an opening for a Zenworks & Linux Support Specialist.

Duties: * Novell ZENworks Desktop Management: Creating and deployingworkstation images, configuring and troubleshooting application deployments and setting-up and troubleshooting customer desktop polices.
Basic understanding of the underlying NetWare and SuSE Linux server operating systems is also required.
* Evaluate New Products and Services: Evaluate, test and provide detailed reports and recommendations on new hardware and software applications and services.
* Project Management: The establishment of procedures for conducting risk assessment, threat analysis and risk management; the identification of security gaps and non-compliance in business processes with respect to HIPAA/security best practices.
* Administration: Provide change and problem management activities, such as; tracking, coordination and management of issues and service requests, maintenance of logs, attend meetings with DHS employees and provide weekly written project and attending status reports that
1. summarize actual hours worked and assigned tasks status, an
2. provide a running summaryof total hours worked each month that includes cumulative hours worked and contract hours remaining, and any other administrative activities as directed by the Project Manager.
* Mentoring and Knowledge Transfer: Working with DHS technical staff and facilitating the transition of support responsibilities to DHS employees.
Minimum Requirements: Consultant must meet all of the following
1. Three (3) years experience with Novell ZENwork
6. 5 or above.
2. Two (2) years experience with the Novell Client3 Two (2) years experience with Novell eDirectory4 Two (2) years experience building, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows 2003 servers5 Two (2) years experience installing and configuring Microsoft SQL 2003/2005 Servers6 Two (2) years experience supporting BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server)Must be a US Citizen or Greencard/EAD holder local in Southern CA for an in-person interivew only.
Must be able to pass a background check.
