Database Administrator Job in Norcross, Georgia US
Salary: $90-115KDuration: Direct Hire - Permanent Opportunity Database Administrator Position Summary As a Database Administrator/Developer you will help develop, monitor, and maintain our database environment.
In this pivotal role, you will be using your knowledge of data modeling, XML, & SQL to deliver the right information to the right place whenever it is needed.
You will impact the business by creating efficient data structures and ensuring that everyone from business leaders to operators has the information they need to do their job when they need it. You will accomplish this by building out the data structures, implementing programs, implementing reports and ensuring that databases are constantly monitored and maintained.
This position has both development DBA and production DBA responsibilities.
There is very little actual development.
Instead of raw coding, optimization of existing code in development to call the data layer to gain the greatest efficiencies.
Administration is also a facet, but a smaller one, in comparison to the data architecture and logical and physical solution design.
Responsibilities · Work with Sr. Architecture team in designing our next generation applications · Develop DB structures, including schemas, stored procedures, & Interfaces to data · Work with Network Engineering team to ensure proper security, redundancy, & monitoring are in place · Develop reporting tools to enable business leaders & partners to measure KPIs · Learn existing database structure and assist in maintenance & performance tuning · Work closely with team members to research and troubleshoot issues · Document systems as they are built Requirements · Strong oral and written communication skills · Ability to interact both effectively and professionally with business partners, team members, and individual customers · 5+ Years experience with MS SQL Server · Experience with at least 1 other Database platforms · 4+ Years experience developing solutions with XML and strong abilities with XSLT & XSD · 2+ Years experience working with the .NET Framework · 2 Years Experience with a reporting solution (SQL reporting services, Crystal Reports, etc.) · 4 Year Degree in Computer Science or related field
