Data Ctr Ops Specialist II 683065 Job in Providence 02919, Rhode Island US
Provides operational support for systems hardware, peripherals and software within Client data centers and related facilities.
Identifies, isolates, and resolves problems.
Works in conjunction with the Technical support staff to implement immediate resolutions to more critical problems.
Work with Operations personnel to identify areas of possible automation and/or improvement to provide better customer service, enhance problem resolution techniques.
Understands and manages problems utilizing defined Problem and Change Management Policies and Procedures.
Provides all or many of the following services: Monitor systems consoles for problems, manage systems availability, production scheduling and control, reports distribution, service level support, administration and controls, equipment operation, backup recovery, procedural documentation, and execution of the disaster recovery plan.The Specialist II level provides the highest level of support within data center operations.
Associates at this level are expected to have a specialty background on more than one system.
Operates one or more complex computer systems and all associated peripheral equipment.
Monitors performance of systems utilizing software support tools.
Ensures emergency operating procedures are maintained.
Interfaces with customers and appropriate support groups to resolve complex issues.
May act as Shift or Team Lead by providing direction and guidance to other operators while continuing to provide day-to-day support.
Depending on assignment, may handle hardware or software support for associated data center equipment.
Requires 10+ years of experience in computer operations and thorough knowledge of emergency operating procedures, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
CA7 job scheduling, monitoring, and cycle management.
Proficient in JCL/Job creation, maintaining, and documentation.
Understand problem resolution working with programmer technicians and Data center staff maintaining the batch cycle schedule to meeting application availability
