Description:This position is for an experienced Data Management Business Analyst. You will report to the Director of IT Programs and be responsible for business engagement and program/project management of Avid initiatives supporting Master Data Management development and operations along with Data quality. You are responsible for business requirements, working with the development team for design and delivery, and coordinating the end-user acceptance testing and project rollout. While your role is primarily dealing with data management, you may be asked to utilize your experience managing other IT projects as required of a small IT team.You will be responsible for any or all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle - from conceptual phase through to implementation. You will be part of a team that supports post-implementation and ensures global SLAs are achieved. ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Planning• Working with the functional business leadership, develop an on-going process to identify, analyze and document core underlying business processes with respect to data management and quality.• Lead data management strategy and process around data governance, custody, stewardship and security by working very closely with business leadership and IT delivery teams.• Gather, analyze, and define strategy and execution of Data Management development and operations.• Lead process development and planning for data migration and integration between systems.• Lead to develop data validation, verification and reconciliation strategies.• Lead to develop data workflow as it transforms into information.• Assist in the creation of long-term strategic goals for achieving and maintaining high data quality of data with business users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.Acquisition & Deployment• Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy data management applications, systems software, and associated products throughout the enterprise.• Analyze documentation and technical specifications of data migration, integration and quality with data management application.• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and system owners in the testing of data management programs and solutions.• Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.• Assess industry standards for information models, and where appropriate incorporate them into the existing information architecture standards.Operational Management• Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.• Perform regular process reviews to identify business process problems or failures.• Benchmark MDM initiatives against best practices to ensure optimal performance.• Investigate and fix fields that have become outdated due to new business/value rules, new processes, in MDM database.• Formulate and conduct training sessions and teaching materials for propagating MDM knowledge throughout the organization.• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, patches, upgrades, and/or purchases.• Manage all aspects of MDM team, including hiring, mentoring, disciplinary action, performance reviews, termination, and scheduling.• Optimize production support activities - driving down repeat tickets/issues• Adhere to IT Change Control and PMO processes for enhancement/projects• Participate in infrastructure and application upgrades as required • Participate in cross-training and knowledge transfer activities with project teams including end-customers• System optimization - performance analysis and reviews• Security administration as required (Design, objects, profiles - create user Ids, reset passwords, creating roles)Qualifications:• Four-year college diploma or university degree in business, systems design, or marketing, and 10 years work experience.• Certifications in Project Management highly valued.Knowledge & Experience• 8+ years of relevant data management industry experience(master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality) • 4+ years of experienced in managing IM/MDM efforts and project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live. • Must be able to link industry specific business requirements to MDM capability requirements.• Ability to architect an Enterprise wide Master Data Management solution and provide business, governance and technical recommendations• Ability to advise on application integration best practices and optimize performance of EDM programs and solutions• Broad system level expertise across multiple computing platforms and technologies with the ability to influence technology direction at the Enterprise Level• Experience with conceptualization, design and assistance in the implementation of new and existing systems, middleware, MDM, metadata, data quality, data warehouse and production architectures• Knowledge and understanding of integration data hub, data dictionary, and best practices of data quality and governance.• Direct, hands-on experience with automated software management tools.• Knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM) techniques and tools.• Project management skills and exposure to project-based work structures – ability to lead teams throughout the SDLC process.
