DISPATCHER Job in Midlothian 76065, Texas US
General Description/Primary Purpose Implement the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department as directed by management, in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
Description of duties and task essential job functions · Schedule and coordinate driver runs to ensure store deliveries, vendor and 3rd party pickups and/or deliveries are on time.
· Guest Service.
Provide direction and address all inquires and questions by drivers, store personnel, vendors and staff in a professional, friendly manner, and partner with the Department Manager to resolve problems.
· Prepare and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) and Toys "R" Us (TRU) records.
(eg: Xata, KPI's, Area Store Chargeouts, time off requests, driver runs, DOT files) · Coordinate with mechanics on vehicles needing repair and daily status of equipment available.
· Review information from the corporate office and accept/deny load pickup requests.
· Coordinate inter-area backhaul and Distribution Center Backhauls to minimize empty miles.
· Ability to read and understand the English language sufficiently in order to analyze reports, read manuals, invoices, and/or any other written material.
· Basic English language writing skills necessary for the completion of written paperwork.
· Able to problem solve.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Access helpful.
· Ability to learn and perform all essential functions accurately with minimal direct supervision within 8 weeks of hire.
