The Office of Development and Alumni Relations at The Fletcher School seeks an individual with knowledge and ability to cultivate leadership level donors as well as an impeccable customer focus to fill its available position of Director of Annual Giving, The Fletcher School.

The mission of Fletcher's Office of Development and Alumni Relations is to serve The Fletcher School community by: Raising annual and capital funds to meet the Schools evolving and priority academic and institutional needs Creating and sustaining long-term, relevant relationships with the Schools approximately 7,400 worldwide alumni as well as friends, including supporting our approximately 56 domestic and international alumni clubs, and administering world-class reunion and international symposia programs.

The department plans to continue to grow the School's annual fund beyond the $1.

5 million mark as a component of the current $100 million comprehensive campaign.

The Director of Annual Giving, The Fletcher School is responsible for the overall planning and execution of Fletcher's annual fund campaign effort, with special emphasis on the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Fletcher leadership donors ($1,000+) and increasing alumni participation to and beyond the 30% mark.

The goal of the Fletcher Fund is to exceed $1.

5 million and to continue to engage as many alumni, parents, and friends for the school.

The Director is responsible for the identification, recruitment, and management of all annual fund volunteers, including Fletcher's Development Committee.

She/he serves as a point person for annual giving for Fletcher's Board of Overseers, and oversees a budget of approximately $65,000.

The Director of Annual Giving, The Fletcher School also works with and/or shares responsibility with the school director as a primary liaison for school and department related strategic processes and decisions such as: the School's internal development committee, department-related protocol, and Reunion related issues.

The Director supervises three staff members, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, the Reunion Coordinator and an Administrative Assistant.

Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree Three to five plus (3-5+) years in development, alumni relations or comparable field with a minimum of two plus (2+) years in annual fund and at least one (1) year in a supervisory role Microsoft Office and some complex donor and information database experience (eg Advance, Raiser's Edge, Millenium, proprietary system) Valid US driver's license Must demonstrate superior interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships and multiple tasks with ease and be energetic, intellectually curious and a good listener.

The selected candidate must have demonstrable strong customer service experience from prior positions.

Experience in constituent relations is mandatory as is experience managing volunteers.

Direct Mail experience is essential.

The selected candidate should have solid experience analyzing and segmenting data.

Experience with personal solicitations is essential as is excellent written and overall communications skills Some domestic travel required Preferred Qualifications: A graduate degree is preferred.

International experience through study abroad, knowledge of a second (foreign) language, or life experience having travelled abroad is strongly preferred.

A keen understanding of International Affairs and an appreciation for and sensitivity to many different cultures is highly desirable.

Special Work Schedule Requirements: Occasional travel, weekends and evening work for events including reunions in the spring and other special events.
