Corporate Counsel Job in Chicago, Illinois US
Day to day responsibilities include: Interface with external Counsels on all kind of commercial litigation and supervision of litigation matters in Americas and in other Regions.
Including without limitation: Provide legal advice in respect of dispute matters, arbitration, or compliance related investigations.
Manage investigations of disputes and claims Provide legal advice and support related to activities under responsibility of Newedge in Americas, specifically in relation to employment law matters and advising the Human Resources Department.
Including without limitation: Draft templates of offer letters and other employment agreementsReview and negotiate employment agreements Assist the Team and the Head of Legal, Americas with other legal matters as needed.
Including without limitation: Special projects for Senior Management as required.
Provide cover for other members of staff Qualifications include: 6+ years experience in litigation and/or employment lawSignificant knowledge and practical experience in litigation in financial servicesExperience with employment law matters a plusGood knowledge in aspects of regulatory requirements in USAPrior experience in a brokerage firm or private practice is preferredLaw Degree; Current license to practice Law in Illinois or New York
