Care to join us? Vestas Technology R&D Americas, Inc. The Houston Technology R&D facility is currently being staffed to support Vestas research efforts within the wind technology areas of structural mechanics, electricity, control systems, advanced materials and aerodynamics.
Functional Area: People & Culture (Human Resources) Position Reports To: Sr. Director, People & Culture (Human Resources) Brief Description: Provide technical recruiting support to Vestas Technology R&D Business Unit, located in Houston, TX. Recruiting efforts will be focused on hiring individuals with competencies in Aerodynamics, Power System, Structures Dynamics Design; Structure & Vibration Analysis, Electromagnetics Machine Design, Power Electronics and Other exempt support positions.
Essential Functions: Full lifecycle recruiting of research engineering candidates to include sourcing, screening, submitting candidates to the hiring manager; Identify qualified candidates via standard (job boards, internal, internet, direct sourcing; career fairs) and other creative research methods for the Vestas Technology R&D Business Unit; Interface with People & Culture staff and hiring authorities to understand organizational needs;Establish relationships with People & Culture staff and hiring managers; Consult with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills;Coordinate the interview process, gather client feedback and help in determining the successful outcome of the process;May attend and coordinate recruiting events to include job fairs, open houses, college fairs, community networking sessions; and technical trade shows;Respond to common inquiries or concerns from applicants, internal applicants, or members of the business community;Post requisitions, publish openings on the Vestas website, maintain candidate files, using ATS and E-Recruitment ;Assist in the implementation of affirmative action plans and special recruitment goals and programs as they relate to the hiring of women, minorities, veterans or individuals with disabilities;Continually update weekly and monthly reports with the ability to create new reports to track data as needed;Actively seek and partner with organizations to build a pipeline of candidatesOther duties as assigned by the Senior Director of People & Culture Supervisory Responsibilities: None Educational Requirements: A Bachelors Degree, preferably in a technical field, with a minimum of 3 years related experience in aerospace & defense engineering recruiting and/or utility recruiting is required.
Competency Requirements: Proven ability to perform the essential functions of the position as defined;A minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in the Power, Renewable (wind), or Aerospace industry; Knowledge of Employment Law;Ability to work well independently and be trusted to complete tasks with minimal supervision;Strong verbal and written communications skills required;Must be detail orientated with strong organizational and documentation skills;Self motivated and flexible;Must possess excellent time management and problem solving skills;Ability to multitask, handling multiple priorities simultaneously; Possess a strong working knowledge of the recruitment market place (US), including experience in diversity recruiting;Ability to think strategically as well as deliver bottom-line results Travel Requirements: This position may require domestic and well as limited international travel Required Software Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Suite products is required.
Must have experience in using a variety of applicant tracking systems; with knowledge of E-Recruitment / SAP preferred.
Relocation: Only Houston area candidates will be considered.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
