Construction Trainer - YouthBuild Job in Benton Harbor 49022, Michigan US
Michigan Works! Berrien, Cass, Van Buren is a dynamic and growing workforce development agency.
Recent growth has created an immediate opening for a Construction Trainer for our Youth Build Program.
This professional position will require that you be able to teach carpentry skills including: demolition, rough framing, roofing, drywall and finish work.
You will also need to instruct participants in the proper use, handling and maintenance; monitor participants on the construction site, facilitate vocational education and evaluate the participants.
The ideal candidate will have previous construction experience that must include the ability to determine labor and resource requirements for projects.
In order to provide adequate leadership and oversight to participants you must also have in-depth knowledge of OSHA and other construction related compliance regulations.
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience in the skilled trades or completion of a construction related apprenticeship program and/or Journeyman's Card and 10 years of extensive construction experience.
The ideal candidate will also be a self-motivated, inspired "outside the box" thinker with strong communication skills and enthusiasm for making a difference in the community.
