Components Engineer Job in Clarksburg 20871, Maryland US
The Components Engineer will report to the Configuration Management Department.
Candidates should have an electronics background with detailed knowledge of components qualification and life cycle management.
The successful candidate will become the knowledge base and reference for evaluating how components, materials, and process decisions may impact internal organizations.
Manage a complete components strategy for the enterprise to include qualification requirements, specifications, life cycle planning, alternate sourcing, and integration with existing computer systems (ERP, PLM, etc.) to show acceptance, usage, and life cycle status.
Aid in FMEA, support detailed testing using knowledge of lab methods (SEM, SAM, spectrograph, x-ray, Rockwell hardness, etc.). Support value engineering efforts in cost reduction through alternate supplier or alternate parts identification and maintenance of preferred status.
Assist with product reliability predictions through analysis of component applications, de-rating, and testing.
Be able to provide detailed analysis of component testing to Design Engineering.
Assist in conversion to RoHS bills of material when required.
Provide technical support to Components Specialist.
Understand the interface between Components and Configuration Management.
Prefer BSEE or equivalent, 5 years experience with component level design, preferably directly in components management role.
