Prudential Investments (PI) Compliance has an open compliance position that focuses on compliance oversight of sub-advisers to Prudential's mutual funds.

The candidate will provide critical support to the Director, Compliance: Sub-adviser Regulatory Due Diligence, by conducting on-site sub-adviser reviews.

He or she will evaluate the effectiveness of a sub-adviser's compliance program.

Significant travel is required in this position.

Responsibilities include: Performing regulatory due diligence reviews of new and existing investment company advisers (sub-advisers) for Prudential sponsored mutual funds and other products to ensure sub-advisers are meeting all regulatory and best practice requirements, which, for each sub-adviser visit, includes the following: Reviewing policies and procedures, third party generated evaluations, RFPs, answers to compliance questionnaires, and relevant regulatory findings prior to an on-site visit.

Conducting on-site examinations of the compliance programs of sub-advisers, focusing on key compliance and regulatory requirements as well as regulatory developments and industry trends.

Conducting discussions, during on-site visits, with key representatives from compliance, legal, portfolio management, trading, operations, and systems.

Documenting findings and key concerns.

Preparing and/or updating sub-adviser binder documentation.

Reporting findings and key concerns for senior Compliance management via summary email and/or direct conversations.

Updating Compliance Watch List and Notable List on a quarterly basis.

Resolving outstanding issues and concerns.

Coordinating with internal business partners (Fund Boards, SIRG, Law, Fund Admin/Fund Accounting) as necessary.

Conducting limited reviews of investment advisers within Prudential's Variable Investment Trusts.

Participate in forensic testing initiatives, and,Performing special project and other ad-hoc requests in support of overall PI Compliance effort.

Required Skills & Experience · At least 5 years of compliance or relevant business experience with a strong background in the investment management industry.

· Technical knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, and Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

· Regulatory background in compliance, legal, audit, or risk management.

· Knowledge of Prudential's proprietary mutual funds is a plus.

· Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in identifying and resolving issues.

· Ability to partner with Strategic Investment Research Group personnel, as well as other business unit personnel at various levels of within the organization.

· Motivated self-starter who requires minimal supervision in daily activities and broad compliance initiatives.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills, having the ability to maintain orderly documentation and track issues/recommendations.

· Team Player · Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

General Characteristics: The successful candidate will posses solid knowledge of the principles/concepts/ practices of the compliance discipline and applies them to his or her understanding of Prudential products/functions.

Due to the nature of the work, the candidate will tend to have more in-depth experience on a moderate range of compliance subjects.

The candidate will utilize negotiating skills with, and provide counsel to management of Product Development Groups, the Strategic Investment Research Group, and other disciplines to ensure that compliance is attained by identifying problem situations, analyzing causes and recommending corrective action.

The candidate will assist in developing compliance policies and procedures that apply to their assigned scope of oversight.

He or she will initiate inquiries on ad hoc basis into compliance matters within their scope.

Finally, the candidate will provide compliance training to business unit personnel in formal, structured settings.
