Job Overview: The Communications Planning Assistant is responsible for all tasks related to supporting and assisting the planning team in preparation of media proposals, plans, budgets, reports and analysis.

The CPA provides maintenance for a communications plan once it has been implemented and supports the buying process by preparing insertion orders, budget summaries and expenditure reports.

Duties and Responsibilities: Write budget reports on whether funds were appropriately spent and if the existing budget is at an expected levelWrite competitive analysis to get a sense of where the competitors are advertising and how much they are spendingDevelop media delivery analysisDevelop agency point of views on media opportunities for submission to the clientAssist in the development of media plans that specify which forms of media will be used to effectively reach the target audienceStudy demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences for specific media vehicles, including lifestyles and psychographicsPerform various calculations to identify the usefulness of different media plans.

Meet with sales representatives to obtain information about their productsPull research to support the development of media objectives, strategies and tactics including, MRI/Simmons, Mintel, AdviewsUtilize Mediaflow to create and maintain flowchartsAccurately maintain client approved budgetsAssist in execution and tracking of client billingsAssist in the media buying process including the creating of media authorization forms, and media buy specs Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Able to work successfully within a team and independentlyEffective time management skills with an ability to multitask and prioritizeDetail orientedExcellent verbal and written skillsExceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task and detail oriented Strong quantitative and analytical skills Able to produce high quality work within a fast paced, dynamic environmentKnowledge of Media Tools, Donovan Data Systems, MRI/Simmons, Mintel and Adviews is a plus but not required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors Degree with a concentration in Advertising or Marketing Previous Internship experience in Advertising, Marketing or Communications PlanningProficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelTo apply, please visit www.mediacomusa.com/careers.
