Commercial Lines Territory Manager Job in Lawrenceville 08648, New Jersey US
This resident position is responsible for managing a group of agencies and a book of Commercial Lines products in central and southern New Jersey, to retain/maintain written premium, maintain/increase profit and retention, increase Penn National Insurance's name recognition, maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction and further develop the business potential of the territory while drawing upon the strategic direction of the Corporation and the Underwriting Operations Division.
Essential duties and responsibilities include agency and territory management, prospecting and the appointment of new agents, and underwriting.
QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma required; 4-year degree preferred, with continuing education in specialized insurance courses such as IIA, AU, CPCU and CIC as well as other educational experiences that enhance product knowledge and technical business relations* Minimum of 3-years of commercial lines underwriting and/or marketing experience, with strong commercial lines underwriting analysis skills* Multi-line commercial lines underwriting experience, with technical underwriting knowledge of the major and miscellaneous commercial lines of business* Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information of a highly technical nature* Proven sales, negotiations and solution-selling skills* Working knowledge and skill in agency and company automation systems, to include fundamental knowledge of the use of personal computers* Exceptional customer service skills* Good financial analysis skills* Excellent time management skills* Good PC skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products* Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle* Must be able to travel, with some over-night stays possible* Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance and adhere to scheduled work hours
