About the Job: The AASM is currently seeking a self-motivated professional to provide clerical assistance in support of the process for sleep facilities seeking AASM accreditation.
Temporary employment is available for up to 6 months with a possibility of full-time, regular employment.
Responsibilities: Process all incoming applications for accreditation and re-accreditation.
Enter data into the appropriate database and reviewer form, file paperwork, and prepare correspondence letters for mailing.
Understand fundamentals of accreditation process and assist Accreditation department where needed.
Manage and track the accreditation and reaccreditation processes to ensure that applications are efficiently processed.
Recommend adjustments as necessary to ensure the highest level of quality in accreditation service.
Work in conjunction with Sleep Facility Accreditation Manager to prepare reports of programs recommended for accreditation, rescindment, and revocation for the Board of Directors.
Provide information and technical assistance to members, clients of members, or public, relating to the accreditation process.
Promptly respond to phone and email inquiries.
Maintain regular correspondence with applicants within established timelines.
Create and mail certificates to accredited programs.
Organize and maintain entire accreditation file system, compose and type routine correspondence, scan applications for site visitors and prepare UPS shipments and large mailings.
Perform reception duties as scheduled (ie breaks & lunches).
Some travel is required with this position, which may include weekends.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree (AA or AS) from two-year technical school or college desirable.One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office; intermediate experience with Excel highly desirable.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to speak to callers in a professional manner and provide a high level of customer service.
Strong writing skills.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at one time; excellent organizational skills required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
