Civil Engineer-Grants Analyst Job in Gaithersburg, Maryland US
The qualified candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science with a degree in Engineering, Architecture, or other analytical field of study with a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience.
Experience may include field projects, internships and/or higher level education as well as current work experience.
Must have experience in federal, state, professional associations, or in the non-profit arena.
The candidate must have exceptional analytical and communication skills, strong research and writing ability, and proven track record of working well with diverse teams on multiple, concurrent projects.
Ability to attain a security clearance is necessary.
Job Description : The Grants and Policy Analyst will join the rapidly growing, dynamic Homeland Security practice in the Washington Metropolitan area.
Our Homeland Security team provides subject matter expertise to local, state and federal clients in the areas of emergency management, catastrophic preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery planning, and building and transportation risk and vulnerability assessments.
The Grants and Policy Analyst will have direct involvement in project management from preparing proposals, financial management, collecting and analyzing data and reporting.
This person will perform research, analysis, quality assurance and quality control for hydrology and hydraulics, floodplain management, and/or other risk analysis documentation.
In addition, this person will be tasked with the following: * Assisting senior staff in delivering FEMA Benefit-Cost Analysis training* Reviewing FEMA hazard mitigation assistance grant applications * Working directly with local, State and Federal agencies in providing technical assistance on projects as needed.
