Chemist Job in Schaumburg 60173, Illinois US
LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY PLEASE The American Gasket and Rubber Company, a world leader in the manufacture of rubber and plastic dispenser gaskets, is seeking an Staff Chemist.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assimilate industry specific compounding knowledge as directed by the R & D Manager.
Maintain a data base of production formulae and mixing procedures.
Establish and maintain safety protocol for laboratory processes.
Liaise with manufacturing to optimize processability of materials.
Assign to and evaluate experiments by, technical staff to formulate requested new rubber compounds for calendered & molded products.
Coordinate with commercial staff future product innovation.
Revise sister-division compound formulas for in-house production.
Design mix procedures.
Determine compliance with various chemical regulations.
Education / Experience: BS in chemistry.
Must have at least 5 years rubber processing experience.
Skill / Ability Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Must possess computing skills sufficient to prepare reports, technical presentations, and analyze data.
Must exemplify safety and general conduct rules of the Company.
