Position: ChemistLocation: Oakland, NJ Department: Application LaboratoryJob Description: Robertet, Inc., a fragrance manufacturer, is seeking a qualified candidate for their Application Laboratory.
This candidate must hold a BS in Biology, Chemistry, or the sciences and/or related experience.
Summary: Major ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent assists in completing projects originating from our clients or from internal projects.
Responsibilities include the making of house bases, new product formulations, reformulation of current products for cost savings, improved efficacy or new product claims.
Additionally, this position executes test methods with extreme accuracy and performs the appropriate laboratory evaluations to ensure stability, efficacy and quality of developed products.
Activities include research and development, evaluations, analysis, and experimentation on different products and processes, quantitative and qualitative analysis and improvement of technical methods.
The individual will work under direct supervision following prescribed procedures.
Essential Responsibilities/ChallengesThe incumbent must have a basic understanding and working knowledge of scientific principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
The incumbent contributes to the Application Laboratory effort by providing an understanding of chemical and laboratory procedures; the development, collection and evaluation of data; and the preparation of reports and samples that lead to the timely completion of projects.The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of senior laboratory personnel such as Manager, Director, or equivalent, must be able to perform job functions as assigned with the responsibility and initiative required to contribute to the timely development and completion of laboratory projects.
