Cash Equities Support Analyst (AVP) Job in Jersey City, New Jersey US
OverviewWe have a client looking for a support person for Cash Equities with experience with ADP BPS tax reporting.The role is to be a Senior Support Analyst within the existing Application Management team looking after front / middle / back office systems for the Cash Equities business.
Essential RequirementsMust have strong knowledge of Equities business5+ years in Fixed IncomeKnowledge of ADP BPSExperience with WindowsNice to have knowledge of AFPs product aspireDistributed Systems experienceExperience with scripting languages (Perl, Python,etc)Experience with Unix, 1st/2nd Line application (internal and vendor systems) and business process support for end users.
Responding to user queries and support requests.
Support of external client interfaces (reports, report delivery, trade capture, and trade allocation).
Root cause analysis of problems, including solution recommendation.
Operational and support activity remediation analysis in conjunction with Front, Middle and Back Office.
Building a procedure framework and enhancement of knowledge base.
Assisting in BAU activities such as capacity planning, ad-hoc requests (external clients and internal desks) and front office initiatives.
Liaise with Development teams on future applications to be released.
Take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate.
Pro-actively improve quality of systems and service, and increase business value.
Undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas: - capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, metrics application reporting and documentation.
Uphold / champion policies, procedures and standards.
Being able to represent production services at audit and control meeting to discuss compliance to policyEscalation of production incidents to managementSending out incident communication and updating Business appropriately.
DevelopmentDeveloping tools for managing the production environments and reduce manual support of the batch this includes instrumentation of all jobs.
Role requires effective and accurate communicate with clients and internals groups at a reasonable business & technical language level.
Role requires someone who is self motivated, able to work alone or in a group and put forwards their own ideas & suggestions.
Technical SkillsSolid experience with Unix and its scripting languages such as PerlSolid experience with ORACLE, DB2 UDB PL/SQL, MS Sql server and tuning on any database platform.
Solid development skills in coding and debugging support issuesAbility to write technical documents (Technical specifications, Functional Specifications, Test Cases, implementation documentation).
Understanding of connectivity, networks, firewall and TCP/IP protocol.
Equities business knowledge Knowledge of Financial systems and back-office settlement procedures Experience in Executing Disaster Recovery testing initiatives.
