CRISIS INTERVENTION SPECIALIST Provide Legal & Medical Advocacy For Sexual Assault Victims Make your presence felt at Zacharias Center, Lake Countys only rape crisis center.
Join us as we strive to provide comprehensive, high quality client-centered services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse.
We currently seek this Crisis Intervention Specialist who shares our spirit of equality and commitment to provide judgment-free support helping victims maneuver through our medical and legal systems.
This full-time professional works mostly days but flexibility is required to work nights or weekends on occasion.
Functioning on a crisis basis (rather than providing ongoing therapy) duties involve meeting with sexual assault victims at the hospital immediately following treatment and training agency volunteers, police departments and hospital staff in appropriate care in these situations.
In addition, this highly empathetic specialist then serves as the victims medical and legal advocate.
Responsibilities include interacting with multi-disciplinary health care professionals as well as attending and monitoring court cases on the victims behalf.
To qualify, you must possess:
Bachelors Degree in Social Services
Excellent writing and verbal (English/Spanish) communication skills
Ability to document activities thoroughly and accurately
Bi-cultural orientation (Spanish) preferred If you have the ability to counsel clients of all ages whose lives have been affected by sexual abuse and/or assaultwed like to hear from you!
