COMMODITY MANAGER, CHEMICALS, SC Job in ABBEVILLE 29620, South Carolina US
Major ResponsibilitiesTake on key responsibilities in the development and implementation of the company commodity strategy.
Enhance supplier effectiveness by becoming the main communication point between the manufacturing sites and suppliers.
Enhance organizational effectiveness by actively participating on the Spend Initiatives Team and leveraging experience to improve the companies overall cost in regards to commodities.
Identify and implement key supplier metrics to monitor and measure supplier performance.
Implement corrective actions to improve supplier performance when necessary.
Act as a primary communication point between the Commodity Team and the Operations Center.
Ensure standards for ethical conduct are in place and are being adhered to. Conduct analysis and compile data for presentations as needed.
Create purchase orders, scheduling agreements, blanket orders, framework orders, etc. Source and negotiate contracts at the direction of the Strategy Manager.
Required Skills· Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities at one time.
· Knowledge of procurement systems, purchasing policies and procedures as well as purchasing law is required.
· Strong working knowledge of SAP. · Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion within a short period of time.
· Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the business.
· Must exhibit strong communication, analytical and robust problem solving skills.
· Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft applications primarily Access and Excel.
Required ExperienceA bachelors degree in Purchasing or a related field such as Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Technical.
