CENTER ADMINISTRATOR- John Hancock Research Center on Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity Prev Job in Boston 02111, Massachusetts US
The goal of the John Hancock Research Center on Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity Prevention (JHRC) is to develop sound exercise and nutrition programs, influence public policy, and promote physical activity nationally and internationally.
Faculty and staff at the JHRC develop, implement, and evaluate programs designed to help people adopt lifelong, health-promoting habits.
In addition, faculty members help to generate and refine public policies that increase physical activity and improve nutrition.
Faculty and staff at the center work closely with other centers within the Friedman School.
Reporting to Dr. Miriam Nelson, the Center Administrator will be responsible for: Managing the center's day-to-day organization and operations with a focus on center management, communications, and grants support; Overall center management.
Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 3 - 5 years of related experience.
Microsoft Office Suite; fully confident in using Word, Excel, Power point, PeopleSoft or other financial management software, and Grants.gov. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree and three+ years office experience.
Education and/or experience in research administration or related field highly desirable.
Advanced computer skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work independently and with flexibility within an engaging and high-energy group.
