Alstom Power Inc., a global leader and provider of power generation engineering products and services are seeking an experienced Buyer for its North American Wind operations.

The position will be based in Amarillo, Texas with direct reports in Richmond, Virginia and also at our nacelle assembly plant, which is located in Amarillo, Texas, scheduled to be operational by 2011.

The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years experience in an assembly / manufacturing facility purchasing environment.

Alstom officially entered the wind market at the end of October 2007 through the acquisition of the Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Ecot¨cnia.

With the strength of Ecot¨cnia, a successful company with over 25 years of experience and proven technologies in wind power, Alstom decided to complete its broad portfolio of power generation products & services by adding a large, sustainable and profitable wind turbine business to further strengthen its presence in the global power market.

This strategic step is fully aligned with Alstom's leading role in renewable energy, as the global market leader in hydropower and being at the forefront of new technologies such as geothermal power and CO2 capture.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success with procurement and expediting of materials for on-time delivery.

The position will have responsibility for purchasing various materials, equipment, and services for Wind Turbine assembly and factory start-up in our Amarillo, TX facility.

Essential Functions The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following (will be required to perform other functions as assigned): Review supplier quotations, prepare bid tabulations and select lowest qualified bid. Provide assistance in negotiating with suppliers to obtain best terms and conditions for the Company.

Issue purchase orders and supplements in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Enforce terms and conditions of purchase orders, and compliance with legal requirements and Company policy.

Resolve non-conformance issues, back-charges and claims in a timely manner to minimize the Company's exposure.

Review questionable situations with other groups to ensure customer satisfaction.

Strive for continuous improvement in such matters as cycle time, on time delivery, cost and quality.

Maintain supplier qualifications and associated supply management databases.

Development of assembly site Procurement policies, processes, and procedures as required.

Educational and Experience Requirements BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar equivalent area.

Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in factory purchasing.

Demonstrated knowledge ERP/MRP systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to successfully execute on all aspects of factory procurement including process compliance, on-time deliveries, conflict resolution, best choice alternatives Requires understanding of drawings, standard procurement procedures and related Company policies.

Interfacing with other groups regarding various aspects of the procurement process requires strong communication skills Utility player with a high degree of flexibility necessary to deliver results in a start up environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience in wind business, specifically nacelle assembly.

Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.JDE purchasing experience.

Global purchasing experience dealing with European and Asian Supply base.

Leadership experience in a plant procurement role.
