Buyer Job in Marietta, Georgia US
DescriptionFabric.com is looking for a talented Buyer to expand and manage growing categories in the Fabric and Craft business.
This person will be responsible for the lifecycle of his or her categories including buying, building and maintaining vendor relationships, deal negotiations, and analyzing the categories managed.
The Buyer will also be responsible for managing the lifecycle of replenishment products including placing orders, recommending skus to delete from replenishment based on analysis and devising an exit strategy.
The candidate would be expected to be a buying leader beyond their respective categories in helping to define the buying systems and processes that are necessary to run an online business.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate should have experience in forging and building vendor relationships, planning product lifecycles, and selling online.
This person will be flexible, action and results oriented, self-starting, have strong analytical skills, and be comfortable with computer databases and tools.
He or she must have a proven track record in taking ownership, driving results and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced environment.
A background including planning, forecasting and replenishment is a plus.
Responsibilities will also include creating purchase orders, managing markdowns and completing pricing and classification analysis.
Fabric and Craft industry experience is a plus, but not required.
Candidates must be strategic thinkers who can think outside the box and execute a strategy start to finish.
The Buyer is a passionate customer and category advocate within Fabric.com. In addition, the Buyer must be an effective communicator in working with some of Fabric.
com’s most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal colleagues and groups.
To ensure the Buyer is successful, he or she must be able to: Think strategically and tactically.
Rapidly expand and grow our retail business through trend and historical analysis.
Integrate analysis and merchandising instinct into a cohesive category strategy.
Recognize and recommend opportunities to improve the customer shopping experience.
Develop unique merchandising programs that will reinforce Fabric.com in becoming the leader in online shopping for Fabric and Crafts.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and time management.
