Business Unit Manager/General Manager - Diagnostics Category Job in COMMERCE TOWNSHIP 48390, Michigan US
HoMedics Inc, the # 1 name in health and wellness, is seeking an experienced Business Unit Manager/General Manager for our Diagnostics Category.
This individual will be responsible for managing and growing this product category by increasing product offerings and retail customer distribution points through the oversight and management of a team of sales and product development professionals.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Execute a sales strategy that ensures company sales goals are attained to support the Blood Pressure Monitors, Thermometers and other diagnostic products.
Accompany sales staff on sales calls for key customer meetings.
Track sales on an ongoing basis and report sales margin and profit statistics to senior management.
Analyze and evaluate changing market conditions and support senior management in developing short-term and long-term sales strategies and business objectives.
Monitor projects and initiatives to ensure sales volume and profit goals and objectives are met. Oversee the product development process from concept through successful launch.
Work closely with supporting departments, including: Quality Systems to ensure FDA requirements and regulations are met. Industrial Design to create visually striking and distinctively functioning products.
Engineering to define product specifications and assure manufacturability.
Creative Services to develop attractive packaging, merchandising and support material Marketing to develop and execute product launch plans and advertising.
eCommerce to leverage direct-to-consumer online marketing and sales opportunities.
Supervise the development and execution of initiatives including product line management, packaging and merchandising, identifying/launching new products, market research and business analysis, studies of relevant competitive products, consumer positioning, retail channel opportunities and growth plans, sales promotion and pricing.
Provide daily communication and direction to partner factories in Asia.
Job Requirements: BA/BS degree in marketing, sales, business, or related fields Minimum of 10 years experience in the consumer products industry as a general manager with products sold to retail stores, including drug stores, department stores, big box stores, etc. Experience with FDA-regulated medical device products a big plus.
Able to expand and grow the product category in both number of products and market penetration/distribution points.
Must be capable of working all facets of the process, including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis, profit analysis, competitor analysis, new product development, marketing, and sales.
Experience working with factories in Asia.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Leadership, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and shift gears easily.
Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture with changing priorities.
Must be able to take criticism.
Self-motivated.
Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
Experience with retail buyers, including creating and giving presentations.
Highly organized and high energy level to set and accomplish goals Strong persuasion and negotiation skills with current and potential customers.
