Upp is now seeking a: Business Analyst II to work on project and program teams to facilitate and document the current and future state business requirements of any new or modified business operational concepts.
You will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of project and program deliverables in support of delivery to using customers.
DUTIES: Work with internal and external customers (process owners), Business Process Engineers and technical analysts to develop and refine business requirements and process models.
Key contributor of knowledge and ideas relating to strategic and tactical plans within the organization.
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Strong analytical and operational process skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
Review process measurement results and make recommendations for new process improvements or business process engineering efforts.
Analyze performance (effectiveness, efficiency) for enterprise-wide processes.
Work on projects that have enterprise-wide impact and require subject matter expertise of multiple process improvement areas and mastery of process improvement tools.
Collaborate with information technology teams (eg System Analysts) who will be responsible for providing detailed system requirements to fulfill the business processes.
Analyze and quantify the business value of moving from an As-Is state to a To-Be state.
Develop and deliver appropriate project/program work products and deliverables as determined by organizational life-cycle methodologies.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to define business requirements and analyze tradeoffs.
Maintain process development and implementation artifacts.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and produce functional requirements.
Consult with design, implementation, integration, and quality-assurance teams.
Assist in providing effort and cost estimates for the development of solutions that enable business processes.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
REQUIREMENTS: Expert industry domain knowledge gained from previous experience in the healthcare industry.
Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of current best practices and trends in the healthcare industry, particularly the payer sub-domain.
Demonstrable knowledge and evidence of use of business analytical tools to include process flow modeling and Six Sigma methods.
Certifications preferred.
Healthcare industry experience commensurate with position level II (+5 years).
Proficiency with Microsoft tools.
Knowledge of emerging business process standards such as BPMN, UML Activity Diagrams, etc. Good general understanding of delivery life-cycle methodologies like Enterprise Unified Process, UML, etc. Solid understanding of general business functional areas, (HR, Finance, Operations, Customer Service) and healthcare implementation models within healthcare.
BS/BA degree or higher in Business Management, Finance or equivalent work experience.
Advanced degree and/or healthcare certifications a definite plus.
