Job Description: This position provides on-site client support to the US Department of Energy (DOE)Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE)Building Technologies Program office (BTP).

He/she will work with the BTP Appliance Standards team.

The Appliance Standards team (1) develops energy conservation standards and test procedures (rulemakings) for residential and commercial appliances; (2) manages manufacturer petitions for waiver to those standards; (3) coordinates with DOEs General Council for compliance and enforcement of energy conservation standards; and (4) responds to a variety of public correspondence.

Duties: -Provide supervisory and technical expertise in support of a variety of building technologies functions including Appliance Standards rulemaking package coordination and RevCom implementation; compliance, certification, and enforcement including the online compliance and certification management system (CCMS); and eGov/Federal Docket Management System support-Conduct management functions including management of personnel, team and task coordination, quick response actions, and interface with DOE Building Technologies personnel-Supervise, direct, and train staff to ensure excellent client support and consistent billability-Responsible for budget development and strategic planning-Serve as Energetics representative and interface with senior level BTP federal staff overseeing the regulatory process-Prepare management documents and reports as necessary including monthly task summariesQualifications Required: A minimum of 5 years appliance and commercial equipment experience is required, although 10 years is preferred; 3 years of management experience required; government experience a plus.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: -Experience in the testing, R&D, and/or standards development for residential or commercial appliances is preferred.

-Regulatory experience or regulatory process experience is also preferred.

-Have proven ability/experience in managing projects and staff-Self-starter who is able to work in a close-knit team environment to support the client-Working with or helping to build public-private partnerships, particularly within the Federal Government, is highly desirable -Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment -Reasonably proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint-Comfortable in the role of on-site Contractor to a Federal government agency-Excellent attention to detail, demonstrating exceptional organization -Outstanding verbal and written communication skills-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with timely follow throughEDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in an engineering (or similar) field; masters degree is a plus.
