Asst Professor-CT Job in Atlanta , Georgia US
The Department of Surgery of Emory University at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, is actively seeking qualified candidates for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
This is a full-time position as part of a nine member group of general and trauma/surgical critical care surgeons who are the Department of Surgery for the Hospital.
Clinical responsibilities include an active and broad-based general surgery practice, coverage of a Level I trauma service responsible for a population of 5,000,000 in northwest Georgia, and coverage of a surgical critical care service.
Additional responsibilities include supervision and teaching of trauma/surgical critical care/acute care surgery Fellows (#5 in 2010-2011; #6 in 2011-2012), Emory surgery residents, and medical/PA students.
Also, there are extraordinary opportunities for clinical research based on patient volumes and acuity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research and/or have a MPH, MSc or similar degree; however, all candidates qualified by training should consider submitting a curriculum vitae.
Candidates must be Board-certified in Surgery and Board-eligible/Board-certified in Surgical Critical Care.
