Associate Global Brand Director (Vela) Job in Lexington 02421, Massachusetts US
Primary Role The individual will work on a variety of core marketing activities related to marketing velaglucerase alfa to people with Gaucher disease, as well as supporting the ongoing use of the drug, in the case of current users and support entry in new markets.
Activities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Marketing strategy and analysis Marketing communications and promotion development Publication planning Congress and Meeting planning Sales support (educational and promotional efforts) Public relations Advisory boards Professional relations Web site strategy and execution Responsibilities Identify and understand the needs of healthcare professionals and patients around the world Active member of the velaglucerase Global Brand Team to support global marketing efforts through: Develop assigned tactics; set and manage tactical budget, determine inventory levels, plan for roll-out Participate in promotional planning process Manage relationships with certain advisory boards and conduct periodic meetings Shire is committed to providing high quality, competitive, and appropriate health care benefits for employees and their families.

Requirements: Education & Experience Requirements BA or BS required.
MBA preferred 3+ years of relevant brand sales and / or marketing experience preferably with previous pharmaceutical product management experience Experience in international marketing or working with global product teams preferred LSD or orphan drug experience helpfulKey Skills and Competencies Must be results oriented, pay attention to detail, be accurate, prompt and able to meet deadlines Must be able to influence without authority.
Key internal constituencies which must be influenced include regional marketing and sales Financial, analytical, and decision making skills Key external constituencies which must be influenced include industry contacts, KOLs, and professional organizations Must possess superior oral and written communication and presentation skills Must possess ability to be a fast learner, be creative, flexible and adapt quickly to Shires rapid pace and growth patternComplexity and Problem Solving Day-to-day execution of global strategies and tactics are expected Must be able to identify and break down problems to understand a root cause Must be able to present issues, options and solutions in a logical and succinct manner Must be able to react quickly in a complex competitive environment Other RequirementsCandidate should be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment where a high value is placed on critical thinking skills This position will require international and domestic travel.
