Associate Editor, Market Reporter Job in Houston 77001, Texas US
Platts is seeking an experienced Editor/Market Reporter to work on its oil team.
The US Gulf Coast Crude Oil Editor will be charged with covering the crude oil markets.
This reporter will interact with traders and brokers to assess the value of crude markets each day. The reporter will also file regular news and analysis stories regarding the state of the US and global crude markets.
The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with strong problem solving skills who is able to develop and maintain personal relationships with team members and industry sources.
Responsibilities include: Report on price developments and market developments based on Platts' methodologyIdentify market trends - market developments, regulatory changes, logistical constraintsHelp to maintain Platts' existing advantage and growth for price discovery in the US crude oil marketAssist in back up coverage of other markets on an "as needed" basis About Platts: Platts, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), is a leading global provider of energy and commodities information.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years professional experience, either as a business analyst or in a journalism/editorial roleBi-lingual, English and Spanish a plusAble to follow and interpret a strict methodology with attention to detail, accuracy and follow-upAble and willing to represent Platts to the public, its customers and its sources in a professional mannerStrong analytical and communication skillsAble to work with and analyze pricing data; as well as write clean and concise copy
