As the Applications Project Manager you will plan and manage the delivery of small to moderately complex business and clinical system solutions and associated application technical support services in support of UMass Memorial business objectives and ongoing operations.
You will manage the System Development Life Cycle, that is, systems and project planning, estimating, management, execution, and implementation.
Additionally, you will work closely with the functional business groups, the appropriate IS resources, and vendors to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of systems solutions.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
A minimum five to eight years of complex project management experience within Business/Clinical applications and IS Infrastructure projects from planning through completion under strict deadlines is also needed.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, and an in-depth knowledge of systems and network infrastructures used in health care are required.
The technical qualifications are dependent upon focus of the projects.
Previous clinical informatics experience is preferred as well as an understanding of traditional System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
The following skills are also needed: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to lead a business transition process that leverages technology (Process Reengineering/ Redesign).
Excellent presentation skills to a wide variety of audiences.
Proficient with all MS Office applications.
Experience with MS Project is required.
PMP certification is desired.
