The scope of this job is to act as an application support engineer for the Front Office/Middle Office Application Team.

Candidate will support and enhance existing Front office and middle office systems, monitor and enhance the batch schedule, and participate in requirements gathering, detailed analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation on new projects and initiatives.

The position will be responsible for Maintenance and enhancement of programs and interfaces of the Investment Technology Front/Middle Office systems, including mission critical trading and risk management systems.

Support and monitoring of the batch cycle, including new enhancements, tuning and optimization, and production break fix support.

Provides daily production support, and works across support teams to effectively manage and resolve production issues.

Involvement in all phases of software development life cycle on Information Technology projects and initiatives: requirements, analysis, design, development, unit and integration testing, and implementation.

Works closely with other members of project teams to estimate work.

Maintenance and enhancement of the support documentation library.

Qualifications: an entry level opportunity 0-3 years of IT development experience.

Some Oracle development experience in PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, and Triggers desirable.

Classroom knowledge of SQL and relational databases is mandatory.

0-3 years of Unix or Windows development experience in shell scripts and batch jobs desirable.

0-3 years of .NET experience desirable.

Classroom experience and training in development using modern object oriented languages such as C#, C++, or Java and Microsoft .Net mandatory.

0-3 years of software development experience and some involvement in phases of software development life cycle.

Past work experience in an investment company is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of Investments Industry is a plus.

Individual must demonstrate initiative, clear ownership and team responsibilities.

Must be an excellent individual contributor but also a good team player.

Candidate must assimilate new information quickly and have strong analytical skills.

Must systematically analyze problems to resolve issues and answer questions, and be highly responsive to production issues.
