We have an exciting opportunity for an Application Specialist at our St. Louis, MO location.
Summary of Position: The Applications Specialist position is an analytical and technical role that functions with our Inside Sales team and is responsible for providing analytical and technical support to Customers, Outside Sales, and Inside Sales Representatives.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: ˜ Analyze customers process data and functional requirements to specify valve and/or automation packages.
˜ Apply knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards to customer specifications, and answer technical questions based on those standards (ensuring that products specified are in compliance).
˜ Develop pricing for configured products manufactured from Tyco and non-Tyco components.
˜ Answer technical questions about products, prices, and durability.
˜ Negotiate terms and conditions with customers based on guidelines established by management.
˜ Meet with customers to demonstrate and explain features of products and train customers in the use of the product.
˜ Estimate delivery dates and arrange delivery schedules.
˜ Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
˜ Obtain credit information on prospective customers.
˜ Review purchase orders for accuracy.
˜ Provide support to outside sales representatives.
˜ Prepare technical & commercial quotations.
˜ Act as liaison between customer and manufacturing entity for unique products and applications.
requirements: · Bachelors degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
· Minimum two (2) years experience in product analysis and technical quoting and pricing.
Knowledge of valves, actuators, and controls· Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
· Excellent customer focus skills including interpersonal and communication skills are vital for this role.
· Listening and conflict management skills.
· Organizational skills and problem solving abilities.
· Strong computer skills, ability to work with detail, and solid math skills.
