Application Portfolio Optimization- Manager Job in Multiple locations
Please forward a Word version of your resume to paul.doray [at] princetonone [dot] com for review and interview Application Portfolio Optimization- Manager You will create a target application portfolio to maximize business value while minimizing total cost of ownership.
To accomplish this objective, the APO Practitioner evaluates the existing applications and identifies where value is diminished (through cost overruns or complexity, or where functionality and technology which is either overlapping or missing).
The end goal is to produce a blueprint and roadmap which identifies applications to be consolidated, eliminated, maintained, enhanced, or newly implemented to achieve a healthy application portfolio.
Practitioners will also be called upon to implement governance and ongoing portfolio management to keep the portfolio healthy.
Key Responsibilities may include: · Strategic/Portfolio Management · Partner with business to create a portfolio management strategy for the enterprise or a given business unit· Work with the Business and IT to develop a Portfolio Management Governance Process that is well integrated into the overall Governance Structure· Develop / augment business case process and templates to better drive a portfolio based (not project) governance process· Application Solution Architecture · Facilitate the development of the business capability blueprints, context diagrams, and/or value chains· Drive an application health assessment, either broad based or deep dive, to understand functional, technical, and/or financial health of a portfolio and map to capability blueprints· Create "to-be" application architecture blueprints and roadmaps with associated value/business cases to enable IT and Business Strategies given current application health· Technical Solution Architecture · Develop requirements to drive strategic direction for technology architecture· Identify and communicate technology components and services required for solutions within a given portfolio· Identify and communicate portfolio level architecture and technology requirements· Understand and define strategies to maintain the technical health and effectiveness of the portfolio Basic Qualifications: · Minimum 4 years of application portfolio optimization and/or application rationalization· Minimum 6 years of broad coupled with deep Application and/or Technical Architecture relevant experience· Minimum 6 years of team lead experience· Minimum 4 years of project management experience · Minimum 4 years of technology assessment and/or strategy related experience· Minimum Bachelor Degree· Ability to travel Preferred Skills: · Broad, diverse experience and knowledge of major application technologies (legacy to emerging)· Understanding of business parameters and drivers· Good understanding of Business Case Development· Ability to articulate technical issues in business terms and vice-versa.
· Deep and varied application architecture stack skills (legacy and/or emerging)· Enterprise Architecture tools such as Popkin, Meta and Troux.
