Analyst/Associate - Corporate Planning & Analysis Job in New York 10017, New York US
Junior Associate, Corporate Planning & AnalysisLocation: New York Department Description: The Corporate Planning & Analysis Group (P&A) supports the JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) CFO and Controller by providing pertinent and timely analysis of the financial performance of JPMC and each of its business units.
P&A is primarily responsible for leading and coordinating the Firmwide budgeting and forecasting process, including the short- and long-term projection of earnings and capital over varying economic scenarios.
P&A operates in close cooperation with the CFO/Planning groups in each line of business to prepare management reports and presentations for the Operating Committee and the Board of Directors.
Additionally, P&A collaborates with other corporate areas, such as Investor Relations, Corporate Reporting, Corporate Finance Analytics, and Treasury on various internal and external deliverables and to facilitate control and reporting at month-end.
Candidate's Responsibilities: Facilitate key P&A processes to ensure that deliverables are met in a timely and accurate fashion.
Deliverables include earnings and capital forecasting, expense and headcount reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
Develop and prepare senior management reports and presentations for distribution to the CEO, CFO, Controller, Operating Committee and the Board of Directors.
Add value by creating greater efficiencies in the processes and producing more meaningful, relevant financial reports for management review.
Interact with the LOB planning groups and other Corporate areas in order to obtain, understand, analyze and draw conclusions with respect to our financial results and those of competitors.
Analyze LOB business models, earnings sensitivities, and strategic initiatives to enable better understanding of individual LOB financial results within the Corporate P&A team.
Provide subject matter expertise on certain issues that are integral components of the budget and forecast processes, as well as on specific topics of interest to the CFO and Controller.
Lead and participate in ad hoc projects as necessary, such as merger integration, regulatory initiatives, and the development of MIS tools.
Collaborate with Investor Relations and Corporate Reporting on quarter-end reporting and analyses.
Skills Required: Exceptional analytical, problem solving and project management skills with a proven track record of execution against deliverables Excellent oral & written communication and relationship management skills Detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, summarize key concepts and articulate relevant issues to senior managers.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities and to meet deadlines under pressure.
Self-starter who is driven to excel in all aspects of their role and seeks to break the status-quo and initiate improvements where necessary.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel & PowerPoint in particular) 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
CPA preferred, but not required.
Experience with internal financial systems, such as Essbase and Hyperion, is a plus JPMorgan Chase is an Affirmative Action and an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
