Accounts Payable Supervisor Job in Woodbridge, New Jersey US
Leading Intermodal Transportation Company located in Woodbridge, NJ has a full time position in our Accounting Department for an Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Responsibilities Include: Ensuring that the company follows the established A/P processes that comply with internal controls.
Actively monitoring the efficiency and accuracy of the Accounts Payable Staff.
Ensuring that invoices are routed for approval and processed within company standard.
Assisting the Accounts Payable Staff in processing invoices and report generation when necessary.
Working with the accounting department to complete month-end close, upto and including- accruals, reconciliations, etc.Streamline the Accounts Payable processes and improve the month end process.
Communicate and work closely with all other departments throughout the company.
Resolving more complicated issues regarding vendor payments, specific invoices, outside contractor disputes etc.Run weekly outside contractor settlements for nine locations within the United States.
Reconcile daily fuel usage with outside contractor settlements.
Coordinate and process year end 1099 filings.
Coordinate quarterly and year end audits as they relate to the Accounts Payable department.
Prioritize and schedule weekly disbursements of rents, utilities, leases, insurance payments, union obligations, fuel, part suppliers, expense checks, etc. Work directly with Treasurer to develop Cash flow projections.In the absence of the Treasurer work directly with lead bank to manage companies daily cash obligations.
Requirements: Minimum of 5 years related experience.
Additionally, 2-3 of those years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Ability to manage people, deadlines and improve efficiencies.
Strong team leader.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Manage vendor relations and have the ability to resolve conflicts in a productive manner.
Have the ability to work with minimal direction.
Possess high attention to detail and accuracy and work in a high volume environment.
Knowledge of AS400 computerized accounts payable program as well as PC skills, MS Office helpful.We offer desirable benefits, 401(k) and excellent work environment.
